County considering body cam and body scanner bids for sheriff’s department

There’s a wide range of bids for body cameras for LaSalle County deputies. Sheriff Adam Diss opened four bids for the County Board Public Safety Committee last week. The lowest is less than $112,000. The highest is almost $204,000. The Sheriff’s Department and State’s Attorney’s Office are going over the bids to find out which ones meet all bid specifications before recommending any of them for the County Board’s approval next week.

Four body scanner bids ranged from about $112,000 to $177,000. Those are also being looked over before a recommendation is made. The body scanners will be used in the jail for faster searches of inmates and visitors without physically intrusive methods.
