Local unemployment remained low in July

Unemployment in LaSalle County dropped to 4.3% in July. That’s one person out of work for every 23 who want to work and it’s down from 4.7% in June. The Illinois Department of Employment Security says the rate’s just 4.1% in Bureau County, holding steady. Putnam County’s rose from 4.2% to 4.9%. The three counties combined had an unemployment rate of 4.7% in July. Grundy County’s was 4.3% and held steady from June to July.
