Weekly COVID update: Fourth week with no deaths and falling current cases

LaSalle County has been moved to the low community spread level for COVID-19. The last time the county was at that level was in the first full week of July. This is also the fourth week the LaSalle County Health Department has reported no deaths. That leaves the county as a 1.46% mortality rate. Current cases also continue to fall for a fourth week. There were 1,405 this week. The health department reported 192 new cases with 274 recoveries. There have been 33,384 total cases so far with 31,979 recoveries.
