The city of LaSalle is redoing the pool liner at Veterans Memorial Pool. Mike Girton with the public works department says the liner won’t last after winter if it’s not redone. He says it was getting so bad that the fiber glass mesh underneath was exposed.The city will pay about $230,000 to replace and install it. The project is supposed to start by next spring. Natare Pool Corp. was awarded the project. Mayor Jeff Grove says he would rather have the city pay for it now rather than replacing the entire pool in the future.
