Wilma L. Carpenter, 93 of Streator passed away Friday (August 19, 2022) at the Richard L. Owens Hospice Home, Peoria.
Following cremation, a visitation will be held Saturday (Aug. 27th) from 9 – 11:30 AM at the Winterrowd Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:30am at the funeral home.
Wilma was born on September 21, 1928, in Streator to Lawrence and Ada (Coomer) Kinkade. She married Donald D. Carpenter on April 24, 1948. He preceded her in death on February 4, 2011.
Surviving are daughters, Karen (Joseph) Kissel of Montgomery, TX and Marcia (Michael) Weld of Dana, son, Donald D. (Jane) Carpenter of Streator, grandchildren; Bryan (Tara) Kissel, Kevin (Greta) Kissel, Dr. Steven (Lindsay) Kissel, Luke (Kristen) Weld, Lindsey (David) Millburg, Lee (Shannon) Weld, James (Whitney) Carpenter and Scott (Jamie) Carpenter, 22 great-grandchildren, sisters, Bernadine Broadus of Streator, Rosemary (Robert) Webb of Oswego, brothers, John Kinkade of Streator and Robert (Connie Reaska) Kinkade of Streator, brother in law, Frank Schmitt of Streator and several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Don, sister and brother-in-law Nedra and Ed Bute, sister, Carol Schmitt, sister and brother-in-law Audrey and George Vadas, Mary Kinkade and Norma Kinkade, brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Pat Kinkade, brother and sister-in-law Edward and Janet Kinkade and sister-in-law Eileen Kinkade and brother-in-law Paul Broadus.
Wilma graduated from Streator High School in 1946. She was a member of the Eastern Star of the Masonic Lodge in Streator and the First United Methodist Church.
Wilma had the most giving heart and the kindest soul who was loved by all who met her and called her their friend. She will be dearly missed. She was called by her great grandchildren G.G. Ma.
Memorials may be made in her name to the First United Methodist Church.
