Darlene Kleckner, 89, of Ottawa, passed away Thursday, August 18, 2022 at Heritage Woods.
Per Darlene’s wishes, no funeral services will be held. Cremation rites have been accorded to Ottawa Funeral Home
Darlene was born March 16, 1933, in Flint , MI, to Oscar and Marie (Yandick) Anderson . She married Otto William Kleckner on February 18, 1950 in LaSalle, IL. He passed away Sept 26, 2000.
Darlene worked as a homemaker and in her free time would tend her garden. She enjoyed traveling and spending as much time as she could with her grandchildren. She spent about ten years living in Tennessee so she could enjoy the warm weather and be near family.
She is survived by her children, Russell (Debbie) Kleckner, Marilyn (Tom) Willis, Vincent (Rita) Kleckner, Miles (Jean) Kleckner, Karen (Mark) Truty, and Chris (Char) Kleckner; twenty one grandchildren; many great grandchildren; and her siblings, Carol Stewart and James Anderson; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Darlene was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 50 years, Otto; her daughter, Donna (Daniel) Lawrence; and her eight siblings.
The family wishes to thank all the faculty and staff of Heritage Woods Ottawa and OSF Hospice for taking great care of their mom, grandma, and great grandma.
