Buffalo Rock State Park will stay open next week. A message from the Illinois Department of Transportation issued Wednesday said it would close next week for retaining wall work on the entrance road.
WCMY News contacted IDOT spokesman Paul Wappel to get a clarification, because it wasn’t clear what day the closure would end. He informed us the project won’t start next week after all. Wappel says Wednesday’s announcement is being rescinded and a new announcement will come out when the new closure date has been determined.
