The traffic pattern on Main St. in Ottawa at the start and end of school days will extend into mid-September. Ottawa High School Supt. Mike Cushing says the bridge maintenance work will last longer than expected. It’ll also be in place during heavily attended evening activities at the school, such as football games. People leaving the events will have to go east on Main St. to Green St. and then to Canal Rd.
If the mid-September finish holds true for the bridge maintenance, the need for that special traffic pattern will end before the second home football game. That’ll be the homecoming game on September 23rd.
