Cong. Lauren Underwood returned to Illinois for a Women Inspiring Women event in Marseilles last night. She talked about the Honoring Our Pact Act signed into law yesterday. It provides medical care for veterans sick from exposure to toxic burn pits during military service. Underwood will go back to Washington, DC in time for Pres. Biden to sign the Inflation Reduction Act tomorrow.

At the event at the Laborers 393 Hall last night, the Democratic Congresswoman told an audience of women their rights are under attack and the attackā€™s just beginning with abortion.

Underwood is running for reelection in the 14th Congressional District, which will cover northern LaSalle County starting in 2023. Also there were Comptroller Susana Mendoza, 3rd District appellate judge candidate Sonni Choi Williams, and 2nd District Cong. Robin Kelly.
