The people using Thornton Park don’t seem to mind that the park’s renovation isn’t done yet. City Commissioner Marla Pearson says three contracts the City Council approved this past week are for the rest of the work.

U.S. Tennis Court Construction is getting a $31,000 contract. Evans and Son Blacktop, Inc. is getting $101,398 worth of the work. And Peerless Fence will do $16,193 worth. The work must be done by this December for the city to get the grant money that’s covering part of the park improvement cost.
