Ottawa’s Riverfest celebration has reverted to Friendship Days. There will be a kids fishing rodeo, arts and crafts sales, a dance show, and the Touch-a-Truck event. There won’t be a carnival or parade.
City Commissioner Wayne Eichelkraut says there are lots of other things to do in and around Ottawa now, so the more expensive things to put on aren’t so well supported. But there’s a committee working on a parade for this fall.
Friendship Days starts Thursday with the downtown merchants’ sidewalk sales and the kids’ fishing rodeo.
