LaSalle County Board members plan to name a new state’s attorney Tuesday. A special meeting has been called for noon that afternoon. Todd Martin is leaving the state’s attorney’s job to become a judge. The person named to replace him as the top prosecutor will have the appointment until the end of November 2024. The timing, with just under three months until this year’s election, means there doesn’t have to be a special election to fill the second half of the term.
