LaSalle County unemployment dropped from May to June. It was 5.5% in May and 4.7% in June.
The Illinois Department of Employment Security says the rates also dropped in Bureau and Putnam counties. Bureau County’s rate went from 4.8% to 4.1%. And Putnam County’s fell from 5.1% to 4.2%. In the three counties combined, the rate was 5.3% in May and 4.6% in June. It amounts to one in about 22 people who want work not having it.
Grundy County went the other way from 3.7% to 4.3%.
