Almost $1.2 million in investments will be made to improve the Streator Incubator. The U.S. Economic Development Administration is giving the city $948,000 and the city is coming up with $237,000. The work is estimated to generate $1 million in private investment and create 50 jobs. Work to be done includes an HVAC upgrade, structural improvements, parking improvements, a new fire alarm system, and technology upgrades. The city of Streator got the former Streator Armory building from the Illinois National Guard for $1 in 2015 and started the business incubator in it.
