A Warrenton, North Carolina man is to serve a three-year sentence in the Illinois prison system for taking an Earlville teen to an Ottawa hotel for sex when the new year started. Thirty-nine year old Andre Harris pleaded guilty last week to aggravated criminal sexual abuse. Judge H. Chris Ryan agreed to the three-year term in the plea deal.
After Harris and the teenager showed up at the Holiday Inn in Ottawa on New Year’s Day, a hotel employee recognized the teen as a missing person whose picture had been posted online. That employee called police. Harris was taken into the state prison system at the Stateville prison yesterday.
