(Springfield, IL) — A group of downstate GOP lawmakers are asking the Illinois Republican Party to censure U.S. Representative Adam Kinzinger for his actions during the January 6th hearings. The Illinois Freedom Caucus claims Kinzinger has “offered up little but incendiary language, wild exaggerations and personal opinions as so-called evidence of his baseless claims.” Kinzinger has been taking part in the House committee investigation into the role of Donald Trump in the January 6th insurrection. He was censured by the Republican National Committee in February for participating on the committee.
