Twenty-two year old Seth Durand of Roanoke has died at a Springfield Hospital after the electric shock accident that knocked him and four other men off ladders at a home northwest of Streator. It has been a week since a piece of gutter they were installing touched an electrical wire and sent a current through the men and the aluminum ladders they were standing on. The men fell 25 feet. Sangamon County Coroner Jim Allmon says Durand died this morning.

The men worked for Double L Seamless Gutters. The company says in an online message, “We are devastated and heartbroken to announce that our co-worker and friend Seth Durand passed away this morning. We hope that you can all understand that we are grieving this great loss at Double L and in the community. If you knew Seth you know how hard working he was, how he would always being willing to help, and would give his shirt of his back to help someone in need. When we return to work, we will work with a different purpose, we will work in honor of Seth because we know he would want us to get back to work. There won’t be a day that goes by that we don’t think of him. We look forward to serving everyone’s needs as soon as we can because we know that’s what Seth would want!”
