Lori (Stricklin) Smith, 68, of Ottawa, passed away on Thursday, August 13, 2026 at Goldwater Care in Marseilles.
A celebration of life will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. on August 20, 2026 at the VFW Hall in Ottawa. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Mueller Funeral Home in Ottawa.
Lori was born on August 16, 1957 in Ottawa to Theodore and LaVerne (Johnsen) Stricklin. She was a graduate of Ottawa Township High School class of 1975 and worked at North Central Behavioral Health Systems for 25 years. Lori was a Girl Scout Leader/Organiser and a homeroom mother. She loved to cook, bake, spend time with her grandchildren and attending her granchildrens sporting events, always cheering the loudest. Lori also enjoyed crochet, pulling pranks, dancing and singing along to a good band.
Lori was a loving mothe to all who knew her and a grandmother to the community. Lori knew what to say when you needed advice.
She is survived by her three children, Trisha Davis of Ottawa, Stacy Smith of Ottawa, Ashly Smith of Orlando, FL; five grandchildren, Corbin Davis, Cole LaVoy, Cora LaVoy, Krya Smith and Kentley Smith; six great-grandchildren; and a brother, Alan Stricklin of Ottawa.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Theodore and LaVerne Stricklin.
