Clint Thomas Mettille-Halterman, 55, of Ottawa, passed away peacefully on August 18, 2026 in Ottawa.

Born in LaSalle, Illinois to Romalyn Miner and the late Thomas Mettille, he was later adopted by Jerry Halterman.

Clint graduated from Ottawa Township High School and was a longtime client of Friendship House. He lived with his brother, Lance, and his friends at the Beth Mangold House in Ottawa for many years.

Clint was a well-known member of the Ottawa community who enjoyed spending time out and about the town, watching the high school band, and socializing with the staff and clients of Friendship House. He worked at his leisure at HR Imaging and enjoyed listening to music, patrolling the grounds of Mangold House and Friendship House, and helping himself to the nearest available jar or bowl of candy. His calm and patient demeanor, his wide and open smile, and his willingness to help anyone will be missed.

Clint is survived by his brothers, Lance and Rod Halterman, and his nieces, Alexis, Samantha, and Sophia Halterman. He was preceded in death by his parents.

There will be a memorial event for Clint on Saturday, August 22nd at noon at Friendship House (1718 N 2525th Road, Ottawa, IL 61350).

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Clint’s honor to Ottawa Friendship House.
