Edmond LeRoy Forth, 91 of El Cajon, CA, formerly of Marseilles, IL, passed away on Saturday, January 3, 2026, at Sharp Grossmont Hospital in La Mesa, CA.
A celebration of life will be held on July 18, 2026 at Seals-Campbell Funeral Home in Marseilles. Visitation will be 2 to 4 pm with the service to follow and military honors. Cremation rites have been accorded. Burial will be in the Sheridan Cemetery in Illinois at a later date.
LeRoy was born on January 10, 1934, in Miller Township, to Edmond John and Ethel Mae (Nelson) Forth. On October 2, 1955, he married Dorothy Patricia Hogue of Marseilles, who preceded him in death in 2016.
LeRoy served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany. He was employed by Caterpillar Inc. He owned and operated Fox Valley Tire and Appliance and Forth Trenching and Excavating in Marseilles. He has always been a devoted Christian, husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
He is survived by his son, Curtis (Laurie) Forth; his daughter, Denise (John Craig) Meile; his daughter-in-law, Wendy Forth; six grandchildren, Jackie (Pat) Tomassi and Alex (Torri) Forth, Jessica Smith and Ryne (Kelsey) Forth, Caitlin (TJ) McAllister and Micaela (Steven Lounsbury) Meile; twelve great-grandchildren; one brother, Jerry (Juanita) Forth; his special partner, Barbara Clayton; and many nieces and nephews.
LeRoy was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Dorothy; one son, Lee Allen Forth; and two brothers, Jack and Roger Forth.
