Sharon Louise Youmans, 86, of Ottawa, passed away on Monday, June 15, 2026, at OSF Saint Paul Medical Center in Mendota.
Visitation will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, June 20 at Seals-Campbell Funeral Home. Memorial services will follow at 3 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Shawn Saldano officiating. A private burial will be held in Riverview Cemetery in Marseilles at a later date.
Sharon was born on May 4, 1940, in Marseilles, IL, to Sherman and Pearl (Faletto) Burrows. In 1959, she married Earl R. Youmans Jr. of Marseilles who preceded her in death in 2022.
She grew up in Marseilles and attended and graduated from Marseilles High School. She was employed at Nabisco, Ottawa Medical Center, and the Law Offices of Peter F. Ferracuti. Sharon was also employed at the LaSalle County Clerk’s Office until her retirement in 2005. She enjoyed reading, sewing, and solving game and computer puzzles.
As the dedicated mother of two she set a bar of excellence, like many other single parents of her time in the 80’s when the other parent fell out of the picture. We love you Ma, for the outrageous efforts, sacrifice and giving everything. You were the best parent we ever had.
Sharon is survived by her two sons, Neil Youmans of Utica and Jason Youmans of LaSalle.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl, and her parents.
