Dorothy Irene (Theisinger) Holloway

Dorothy (Theisinger) Holloway, 99, of Ottawa, formerly of Tonica, passed away on Wednesday, June 10, 2026 at Pleasant View Lutheran Nursing Home.

Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. on Sunday, June 14, 2026 at the Mueller Funeral Home in Ottawa with Rev. David Kromphardt, officiating. Visitation will be held an hour prior to the services at the funeral home.

Dorothy was born on April 2, 1927 in Spring Valley to Charles and Ida (Pletsch) Theisinger. She graduated from La Salle Peru High School in 1945. She was formerly in the wage rate department at Westclox, First National Bank in Oglesby, and the Tonica Telephone Company. Dorothy married Orville Foote on February 24, 1946; he passed away on September 13, 1951. She then married Glen Holloway on September 1, 1957 and he passed away on May 29, 2003. She was a member of Immanuel (County Line) Lutheran Church in Peru, where she taught Sunday School and participated in many of the women’s activities, especially sewing quilts for Lutheran World Action for many years. She was also a member of the Cedar Point Home Extension and Tonica 20th Century Club. She also played cards in a pinochle club.

She is survived by her daughters, Diane (Foote) McCurdy of Ottawa, Nancy Holloway of Ottawa, Mary (Mark) Knoy of Wildwood, MO; a son, Robert (Debbie) Foote of Rolesville, NC; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; a sister, Lorraine Morris of Centerville, OH; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Ida Theisinger; her two husbands, Orville Foote and Glen Holloway; a son-in-law, Richard McCurdy; and two brothers, Howard and Earle Theisinger.
