Maribeth “Betsy” Farrell, 47, of Ottawa IL passed away from her battle with cancer at Rush Hospital in Chicago IL.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 15, 2026 at the Mueller Funeral Home in Ottawa. Burial will follow the services at St. Columba Cemetery in Ottawa. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, May 14, 2026 and on Friday one hour prior to the services at the funeral home.
She was born March 31 1979 and adopted by John “Pat” and Jane (Frackowiak) Farrell. She lived a life devoted to her son Cody Kammerer and her dogs. Maribeth worked at Office Max, as a dispatcher for La Salle County Sheriff’s Department and later at Pilkington Glass. But her greatest joy was her son Cody. She loved spending times with her dogs especially her dog Ray. She enjoyed playing games, usually yelling at you to play Yahtzee. Maribeth loved her time at her camper and all the great friends she made. You could always expect a smile or the finger from her.
She is survived by her son, Cody Kammerer of Ottawa; her father, John “Pat” Farrell; two brothers, Shawn Farrell of Ottawa, Ryan (Julie) Farrell of Green Bay, WI; four nieces, Isabel, Rylie, Sophia, Jane; and a great-niece, Hazel. A special thanks to Megan for watching over her as she slipped peacefully away.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Jane Farrell; her aunts, uncle, grandparents, and her beloved dog, Radar.
