Daryl Fay Hoyt, 86, of Marseilles, passed away Monday, April 20, 2026 at Glenbrook Hospital in Glenview, IL.
A visitation will be held on Monday, April 27, from 10:00am until 12:00pm at Ottawa Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 12:00pm. Interment will be in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery at a later date.
Daryl was born July 26, 1939 in Iowa City, IA to Fay and Dorothy (Yakish) Hoyt. He married Margaret “Susie” Towner on November 21, 1970 in Ballison Lake, NY. Susie preceded him in death on January 2, 2020.
Daryl served 26 years in the United States Air Force and retired as a Chief Master Sergeant. He was co-owner and worked for Wedron Silica and Fairmont Minerals. He was a member of the American Foundry Society, Cast Metals Institute, Cope and Drag, and the Air Force Sergeant Association.
He is survived by his two sons, Daryl J. (Dawn) Hoyt and Trevor L. (Portia) Hoyt; his grandchildren, Daryl M. Hoyt, Jeffery M. Hoyt, T.J. Hoyt, and Tracie E. Hoyt; and his siblings, Jack (Janet) Hoyt, Cheryle (late Robert) Rambo, Charlynn (Bill) Price and Pamela Austin.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Fay and Dorothy; his wife, Susie; his sister, Sondra Hoyt; and his brother, Richard Hoyt.
