Gertrude Allen, 94, of Ottawa, passed away on Sunday, April 12, 2026 at Goldwater in Marseilles.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday April 16, 2026 at the Mueller Funeral Home in Ottawa, with Rev. Satya Sudhakar, Pastor of Epworth United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Memorial Park. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Gertrude was born on March 16, 1932 in Belleville, IL to Clarence and Florence Zeilmann. She married Larry Allen on March 31, 1979. He passed away on June 26, 2016. Gertrude was a member of Epworth United Methodist Church. She enjoyed attending church every Sunday and getting dinner with her friends after.
She is survived by six children, James (Donna) Clements of Morris, David (Jean Smith) Clements of Michigan, Roger (Jamie) Clements of Marseilles, Marsha (Jim) DeBernardi of Ottawa, Daniel (Bobbi Henry) Clements of Ottawa, and Janet (Ron Hiller) of Ottawa; nine grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; several great-great grandchildren; a brother, William Zeilmann; and two sisters Judith and Carol Zeilmann.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Larry, a son, Steve, two grandchildren Jimmy and Eric; and two siblings, Sharon and Bud.
