Person with what appears to be a gun arrested outside US Capitol: Police

(WASHINGTON) — AA person with what appeared to be a gun was arrested near the front of the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C., according to Capitol police.

“There does not appear to be any other suspects or ongoing threat,” authorities said.

Officers cleared the area, which has since reopened, according to police.

Both chambers of Congress are out of session this week.
