Alfred C. Boaz, 97, of Marseilles, passed away on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, at Pleasant View in Ottawa.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturday, January 31, 2026, at Seals-Campbell Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at noon at the funeral home with Pastor Troy Tvrdik of First Baptist Church officiating. Military rites will be accorded at the funeral home. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery in Marseilles.

Alfred was born on July 17, 1928, in Ellsworth, IL, to Vernard and Viola (Arrowsmith) Boaz. On April 23, 1950, he married Martha J. Hosler who preceded him in death in 2024.

Alfred served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during WWII and was stationed in Germany. He was employed as an operating engineer for over 50 years, by Chicago Bridge and Iron, Labor Local #393, Partridge Barge, and as a driller and blaster at Sheridan Sand and Gravel, Boren Blasting, and Ludwig Explosive. In his retirement, he helped at the Timmons Farm. He was a member and past president of the Marseilles Lions Club, and a member of Marseilles American Legion Post # 235, and the Humphrey Club.

He is survived by his five sons, Mike (Susan), Randy (Diane), Bruce (Debra), and Brad (Cindy) all of Marseilles, and Brian (Lori) Boaz of Rockford; 16 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, and four great great-grandchildren.

Alfred was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Martha; two daughters, Cathy Ann and Marcia; three grandchildren, Keifer, Joshua, and Bruce Lee; and two brothers, Delmar and Gary.
