Susan Laurie Brockman, 62, of Grand Ridge, Illinois, passed away on October 18, 2025,
surrounded by her family and loved ones.
A private ceremony will be held to honor Susan’s life, with her family gathering to
celebrate the love and memories she leaves behind. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Mueller Funeral Home in Ottawa.
Susan was born in Ottawa, Illinois, on November 26, 1962, and lived a life filled with
love, devotion, and strength. She devoted her life to her husband, children, and
grandchildren—they were the center of her world and the source of her greatest joy.
She was known for her kind heart, gentle spirit, and love of the simple things in life.
Susan cherished her days spent in the country, surrounded by nature and peace.
Whether it was sharing laughter with family, watching her grandchildren play, or
enjoying the stillness of a country evening, she found beauty in every moment.
Susan is survived by her loving husband of 37 years, Andre Brockman; her
mother-in-law, Mary Ann Brockman; and by her children: Jacob (Lindsey) Donahue,
Cody (Breanne) Donahue, Bridget (Nick) Law, Brittany (Dustin) Torres, Andrea
Kleckner, and Andre Brockman II. Her greatest pride and joy were her grandchildren:
Josephine, Joseph, Henry, Weston, and Sophie Donahue; Marshall, Mason, and
Maddox Law; Makinley, Harper, and Cade Torres; and Brayden and Adelynn
Kleckner.
She is also survived by two brothers, James (Christine) Baxter and Randy (Connie) Baxter, her extended family, many nieces and nephews, and dear friends who will forever carry her memory in their hearts.
Susan was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Patricia Baxter; and
father-in-law, Paul Brockman.
