Barbara Jean (Wilson) Hess, 95, of Ottawa, passed away on Wednesday, October 8, 2025 at her home surrounded by her daughters.
Funeral services will be private. Burial will take place at Oakwood Memorial Park in Ottawa. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Mueller Funeral Home in Ottawa.
Barbara was born on August 26, 1930 in Ottawa to Charles and Winifred (Chilton) Wilson. She married Wayne Julien Hess on June 3, 1951 at Epworth Methodist Church in Ottawa. Barbara was a member of Epworth United Methodist Church Sewing Club and other church organizations. She treasured spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, fishing, gardening, cruises, and going to Culvers.
She is survived by her two daughters, Diana (Gary) Windy, Susan (Bill) Sheridan, both of Ottawa; 8 grandchildren, Matthew (Jill) Windy, Kyle (Nicole) Windy, Luke (Laurie) Windy, Gary Jr. (April) Windy, Keith Sheridan, Stephen Sheridan, Caitlyn Sheridan, Kelsey Sheridan; and 11 great-grandchildren, Skyler, Kale, Mason, Rhyat, Ty, Jacob, Nate, Lila, Quinn, Elizabeth, Evan Windy.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Winifred Wilson; her husband, Wayne Hess on May 19, 2023; three sisters, Nellie Lee Buswell, Justine Kelly, Marian Mading; and two brothers, Harry LeRoy Wilson and Charles Edgar Wilson.
