William “Bill” Frank Polancic, 95, of Ottawa, passed away on Saturday, July 26, 2025 at his home surrounded by his family.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12 noon on Friday, August 1, 2025 at St. Patrick Church, Ottawa with Rev. Patrick Wille, officiating. Visitation will be from 9 to 11:30 a.m. on Friday at the Mueller Funeral Home, Ottawa prior to the funeral services. Burial will be private.

Bill was born on September 8, 1929 in Ottawa to Frank and Molly (Brelich) Polancic. He founded Polancic’s Meat Market in Ottawa in 1950. Bill married Elizabeth “Betty” Dilley on November 10, 1951. He was a member of St. Francis Church, St. Francis Church Men’s Club, was a 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus and the Lion’s Club. Bill was an avid sports fan and loved cheering on the Chicago Bulls, Cubs, White Sox, and Bears.

He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth “Betty” Polancic; two sons, Kevin (Julie) Polancic, Jim Polancic; three grandchildren, Erica (Rob) Newinski, Ally Polancic, Jacki (Ryan) Sheahen; three great-grandchildren, Aiden Newinski, Ethan Newinski, Sloane Sheahen; and a nephew, Bobby Polancic.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Molly Polancic; a son, Bill Polancic; and a brother, Val Polancic.

Memorials may be directed to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital and Shriner’s Hospital.
