Frederick “Punch” Pufahl, 85, of Ottawa, passed away Friday, June 6, 2025 at his home.
A visitation will be held on Friday, June 13, from 9:00am until 11:00am at Ottawa Funeral Home. A funeral ceremony will follow at 11:00am with Pastor Dick Ewing officiating. Cremation rites have been entrusted to Ottawa Funeral Home.
Punch was born October 17, 1939 in Ottawa, IL to Frederick A. and Mary (Measles) Pufahl. He attended Ottawa High School and graduated class of 1958. He married Judith Baron on August 1, 1959 in Yorkville, IL.
He worked for over 40 years and retired from Libbey-Owens-Ford. He was an avid New York Yankees and Illini basketball fan. In his free time, he enjoyed doing puzzles and crafts. He and Judy traveled all around the US. He was also a card shark, and he rarely lost a game. He will be forever known for fiercely serving his family, and being friendly and kind to everyone he met.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Judy; his children, Michael Pufahl of Ottawa, Bobette (Bill) Duchaine of Sheboygan, WI, and Penny Suzanne (Joe) Walter of Sheboygan, WI; and his grandchildren, Marc Duchaine, Daniel Walter, and Sarah Walter all of Wisconsin.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frederick and Mary; his son, Gene Pufahl; and his brother, George Pufahl.
