Karen Bower, 85, of Ottawa, passed away on Monday, May 19, 2025 at Unity Point Hospital in Bettendorf, Iowa.
Private services will be held at the Mueller Funeral Home in Ottawa. Burial will take place at Riverview Cemetery in Streator.
Karen was born on September 17, 1939 in Streator to Edwin and Louise (Steinbrink) Walling. She married Charles H.W. “Wayne” Bower on February 15, 1959.
She is survived by two children, Kim (Ryan) Rice of LeClair, IA and Robert (Crystal) Bower of South Bend, IN; and two grandchildren Heath and Jace Rice.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
