Mamie Guerra, 91, of Ottawa, passed away on Wednesday, May 7, 2025 at LaSalle County Nursing Home.
Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 17, 2025 at St. Joseph Church in Marseilles, with Rev. Ryan Mattingly, Pastor officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Evergreen Park at 1:45 p.m. Visitation will be one hour prior to the Mass at the church. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Mueller Funeral Home, Ottawa.
Mamie was born on July 11, 1933 in Ottawa, to Jesse and Carmen (Ortiz) Perez. Mamie worked as a legal secretary in downtown Chicago and also worked for the Chicago Symphony. Mamie was an avid dancer, and was also a dance instructor. She was a member of St. Joseph Church in Marseilles and St. Rita in Chicago.
She is survived by two daughters Francine Guerra of Chicago and Dawn (Chuck Judy) Guerra of Chicago; two grandchildren, Gabrielle Moore and Hayden Judy; one great- grandson, Karter Horn; and three brothers, Jesse and Russell Perez and John Williams.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Mario and Ignacio “Nacho” Perez; and one sister, Carmen “Lito” Perez.
