William Edmond Malik
1934 – 2025
William Edmond Malik, 90, of Ottawa, passed away on Wednesday, April 16, 2025 at the LaSalle County Nursing Home.
A Memorial Service will be held at 12 p.m. on Thursday April 24, 2025 at the Mueller Funeral Home in Ottawa, with Msgr. Mark Merdian, officiating. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Thursday, at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Oakwood Memorial Park on a later date.
William was born on July 13, 1934 in Ottawa to Michael and Mary (Wielgopolan) Malik. He was a graduate of Ottawa Township High School, class of 1952. Bill married Connie Baima on September 5, 1964 at St. Joseph Church in Wedron. He was a member of the American Legion, the Moose Lodge, and the Knights of Columbus. He worked at Libbey Owens Ford for 43 years. Bill loved being a grandpa.
He is survived by his wife, Connie; three children, Karen (Brian) Baudino, Lori (Jeff) Towne, and Pam (Richard) Foster; seven grandchildren, Emily (PJ) Tassone, Andrew (Katey) Baudino, Rachel (Brandon) Boykin, Rebecca Towne, Ryan Towne, Sophie Foster, and Caroline Foster; a great granddaughter Tate Baudino; a brother Eugene (Sharon) Malik; a sister Dorothy Tickle; and brothers and sisters-in-law, Bonnie (Gilbert) Gregory, Susan (Randy) Goetsch, Connie Baima, Patsy (Terry) Grunstad, Mary (Jerry) Grunstad, and David (Michelle) Baima.
He was preceded in death his parents; sisters Marion (Bob) Brooks and Betty (Leo) Serby, brothers, Richard Malik and Jack (Kay) Malik; and brother-in-law Billy Baima.
