It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mom, Elizabeth “Bette” Zepeda . Elizabeth passed away peacefully at the Pavilion of Ottawa, on Tuesday April 1 at the age of 96.
As per her wishes, no visitation or funeral services will be held. A family gathering will be held privately in remembrance of her and to celebrate her life. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Mueller Funeral Home in Ottawa.
Elizabeth was born in Streator Illinois on April 4, 1928 to Otto Nebergall and Besse (Finlen) Nebergall. She married the love of her life, Albert J. Zepeda, on December 21, 1946. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Albert and her daughter, Anne Elizabeth Zepeda Whitney. Elizabeth was a woman of many talents, she was an accomplished artist, a pianist, a wonderful seamstress, and sang in the opera in St. Louis with her father, Otto. Above all she was a wonderful mother.
She is survived by her daughter, Deborah Vessell (Mark), her son Michael Zepeda (Bonnie) and her grandchildren Nicholas Vessell (Katie), Molly Ann Smith (Ben), Ben Zepeda (So Youn), Jillian Pender (Wesley) and Cindi Cameron (Joe); Her Great Grandchildren, Morgan, Alexa, Violet, Cayd, Freya, Isabella, Sora, Gio, Abram, Lena, Whitney, Joey, Dillon, & Alyssa.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Albert, and a daughter, Anne Zepeda.
