Jack L. Bergman, 94, of Ottawa, passed away peacefully Thursday, January 23, 2025 at his home.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, January 29, 2025 at the Mueller Funeral Home in Ottawa. Burial will follow at Grand Ridge Cemetery. Visitation will be an hour prior before the service at the funeral home.

Jack was born on October 12, 1930, in Sandwich, IL, to August and Bessie Mae (Anderson) Bergman. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving during the Korean War. He was married to the late Marjorie Lehr from 1953 until her passing in 1985. He later married Linda Gerding in 2008. Jack was an avid farmer and worked for Sunstrand Manufacturing as the head of purchasing. He later assisted with the creation of Marseilles Brick Company. Jack loved nature, traveling, and a good history book.

He is survived by his wife, Linda (Gerding) Bergman; his three step-children, Beth LeBeau of Streator, IL, Tim Schiffbauer (Erika) of Saint Charles, IL, and Rob Schiffbauer (Amy) of Minooka, IL; and five grandchildren, Maxwell, Jackson, Payton, Emma, and Quinn. He is also survived by one brother, Dale Berman (Mary) of North Aurora, IL; and four nieces, Michelle, Nancy, Lynn and Kristen.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Margorie, a son and daughter, his brother August Berman, and his parents.

Memorials may be directed to Shriners Children’s Hospital or to the donor’s choice.
