Sheila L. Skartveit, 81, of Ottawa

Sheila was born on May 21, 1943, in Lebanon, TN, to Charles and Virginia (Duncan) Taylor. She married the love of her life, Roger Skartveit, in a joyful New Year’s Eve ceremony in Las Vegas in 1996.

Sheila will be remembered for the deep and caring love she held for her family, friends, and her many pets. She was a warm and welcoming soul with a keen sense of fashion. Sheila delighted in watching her grandchildren grow, never missing a baseball, football or basketball game. She cherished the friendships and community she built through life, work, and her neighborhood. Never a fan of cooking, Sheila’s regular visits to the HiWay Restaurant and The Brite Spot earned her not only frequent guest status, but also many long-lasting friendships. Her legacy of kindness, patience, and compassion will remain in the hearts of all who knew her.

Sheila is survived by her loving husband, Roger; her son, Keith (Lynn) Lambert of Ottawa; her stepson, Eric (Barb) Skartveit of Scottsdale, AZ; her siblings, Robert Taylor and Sandra Firestone; her cherished grandchildren, Nicole (Chris) Bowen of Mechanicsville, MD, Zachary (Julie) Lambert of Akron, OH, Jacob (Jenna Dato-on) of Phoenix, AZ, Matthew (Samantha) Lambert of LaSalle, IL, Lucas Lambert of Ottawa and great-grandchildren; Alexis and Landon Bowen, Charlotte Lambert and Leo Lambert, step-grandson Cody Skartveit as well as many other dear friends and family members.
