Richard Fiorini, 72, of Ottawa

Richard Fiorini, 72, of Ottawa, passed away Sunday, December 1, 2024 at OSF St. Elizabeth Medical Center.

Visitation will be on Friday, December 6, from 9:00am until 10:00am at Ottawa Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30am on Friday at St. Francis Church. Entombment will follow in the Shrine of Rest Mausoleum in Oakwood Memorial Park. The family has requested all in attendance dress casually.

Rick was born August 28, 1952, in Ottawa, IL, to Geno and Bernardine (Eichelkraut) Fiorini.

He attended St. Francis Grade School and graduated from Marquette in the class of 1970. He worked as a police officer for several years and then had different jobs while living in Iowa, Nebraska, and Oregon. He was an avid sports fan, following the Bears, Cubs, Notre Dame, and the Indiana Fever. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing and especially spending time with his family. He enjoyed going to his nephews sporting events and always followed Marquette Sports. He was extremely generous and outgoing, he didn’t have a mean bone in his body. He was a member of St Francis Church, was the past president of the St. Francis Men’s Club, and past president of the Eagles Club.

He is survived by his significant other, Cynthia Gustafson; his daughter, Amy (Kelly) Putnam; his sisters, Gina (Bill) Hogan and Julie Fiorini; and his nephews, Cody (Raysa) Hogan and Michael (Cheyenne) Hogan. He was preceded in death by his parents, Geno and Bernardine.
