Amy Jo Linton-Smith, 64, of Marseilles

Amy Jo Linton-Smith, 64, of Marseilles, passed away Friday, October 4, 2024, at The Pearl of Orchard Valley in Aurora.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturday October 12, 2024, at the First Congregational Church in Marseilles. Funeral services will follow at 12 p.m. Saturday at the church, with Pastor Pamela Haug officiating. Seals-Campbell Funeral Home is entrusted with cremation rites. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery at a later date.

Amy Jo was born on September 4, 1960, in Ottawa, to Donald and Barbara (Nilsen) Linton. In 2011, she married Ray Smith of Ottawa who preceded her in death in 2011.

She was a member of the First Congregational Church in Marseilles, where she was a great asset to the choir, singing soprano and other parts, and was active on many boards and committees. She and Ray were former members of the Moose Lodge in Ottawa. Amy graduated from Marseilles High School in the Class of 1978. Her last and favorite place of employment was at Chessie Lane Animal Hospital in Ottawa. Amy enjoyed singing and participated in many local concerts and for many weddings. She loved her church, family, friends and pets.

Amy Jo is survived by her four brothers, Robin (Marie) and Craig, both of Marseilles, David (Sheilia) of Alexandria, VA, and Alan (Kathleen) of Oahu, HI, and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ray; her sister, Mary Ann Heermann-Smith; and two nieces, Brandi and Alison Linton.
