Seferina M. Jarigese, 91, of Ottawa, died Thursday, August 22nd, at Lightways Hospice and Serious Illness Care Center of Joliet.
The visitation will be held at Ottawa Funeral Home on Tuesday, August, 27th from 9-11 AM with prayers at 11 AM. The Funeral Ceremony will follow at the funeral home at 11 AM with Monsignor Meridian officiating. The graveside service will follow at St. Columba, followed by the luncheon at The Knights of Columbus.
Sefie was born August 26th, 1932, in Ottawa, to Eugenio and Demetria (Granados) Rodriguez. She married her childhood sweetheart Benjamin J. Jarigese Sr. on October 7th, 1950. He passed away in 2003.
She enjoyed working at the A & P store and at the Snap-On Tools. She took pleasure in volunteering at the OSF Hospital in Ottawa, where she met so many of her friends. She was a devout member of St. Columba Church. She enjoyed many things, such as casino outings with her friends, watching Jeopardy, doing crossword puzzles, crocheting, and not to mention cooking and baking in which she excelled at.
She is survived by her son Mike (Debbie) of Frankfort, Carol (Mario) Corona of Texas, 10 Grandchildren, many Great Grandchildren, and her brother Tino Rodriguez of Ottawa.
She was preceded in death by her husband, son Benjamin Jr., two daughters Ann (John) Miller & Barbie (Denny) Hamilton, granddaughter Kelly, four sisters; Herminia Hortega, Paula (Jack) Saleda, Stefana & Rosita Rodriguez; and 8 brothers, Max, Emigdio, Bernabe, Tony, Peter, Raymond, John, and Louie Rodriguez.
The pallbearers will be Rob Jarigese, Jessica & David Corona, Phillip (Chico) Rodriguez, Matthew Miller, and Joseph McClure. The honorary pallbearers will be Tino Rodriguez, Larry Rodriguez, and Brian Jarigese.
Memorial donations are asked to be directed towards the St. Columba Church.
