Richard Wayne Acuff, 70, of Ottawa, passed away on Tuesday, July 2, 2024 at his home.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 6, 2024, at the Harvest Baptist Church in Ottawa, with Pastor Paul Robinson officiating. Burial will follow at Deer Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Saturday, at the church. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Mueller Funeral Home in Ottawa.
Richard was born on July 4, 1953 in Ottawa to Wayne and Mary (Hill) Acuff. He worked at U.S. Silica for 38 years. Richard married Janet Sue Leach on January 6, 1973 in Ottawa. He was a member at Harvest Baptist Church in Ottawa.
He is survived by his wife, Janet Acuff, of Ottawa; his three children, Wayne (Kelly) Acuff, of Prosper, TX, Brian (Lindsey) Acuff, of Chicago, Sarah (Corey Willey) Acuff, of Ottawa; five grandchildren; a brother, Jamie King; three sisters, Patty Hayes, Mary Lynn Day, and Deanna King.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents; his parents, Wayne and Mary; and a sister, Sandra Almeda.
Pallbearers will be his grandchildren, Wayne, Brandon, Max, Claire Acuff, his friends Steve Calkins, and Aaron Robinson. Honorary pallbearers will be Dave Harmon, Jim Barrett, and Owen Acuff.
