Lawrence “Larry” Knott, 70, of Ottawa, passed away Wednesday, June 19, 2024 at Aperion Care in Marseilles after a courageous battle with cancer.
A celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Cremation rites have been entrusted to Ottawa Funeral Home.
Larry was born March 10, 1954, in Ottawa, IL, to Lawrence and Delores (Mettille) Knott. He married Debra Vignochi on July 4, 1981.
Larry graduated from Ottawa High School in 1975. He worked for Libby Owens, Caterpillar and was a floor installer for 35 years. He was an avid Cubs fan and never missed an opportunity to watch their games. He enjoyed his family beach vacations and reminiscing of the past with fun stories and family history. He loved his children and grandchildren beyond measure; he had a special relationship with each and every one of them.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Debbie Knott; his sons, Travis (Rachel) Knott and Corey (Heather) Knott; his grandchildren, Deacon, Lennon, Taytum, and Kruze Knott and Sophia and Stone Strobel; his siblings, Jerry (Cheryl) Mettille, Pat (Vernon Kueteman) Waddell, Cheri (Alan) Halm, and Randy (Carol) Knott; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Delores; his half son, Christopher Strobel, and his sister, Linda Mousseau.
