Thomas George Hughes, 60, of Ottawa, passed away on Wednesday, May 1, 2024 at his home in Ottawa.
A private burial took place at Oakwood Memorial Park in Ottawa. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Mueller Funeral Home in Ottawa.
Thomas was born on April 11, 1964 in Ottawa to Thomas “Doggie” and Doris (Stricklin) Hughes. He was a graduate of Ottawa Township High School. Thomas worked at Handy Foods. He was a veteran of the US Air Force where he served for nine years, including service in Desert Strom. Thomas loved gardening and taking care of his lawn.
He is survived by his three sisters, Jill (John) Nevins, Jaci Voss, and Joyce (Marty Allen) Hughes, all of Ottawa; three nephews, Steven Szobar III, Cody (Jacqueline) Hughes, and Channing (Makenzie) Voss; great nephew, Steven Szobar IV and great niece Ruby Jo Hughes.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Hughes and Doris Camplin; his grandparents; and a sister in infancy, Gail.
