Karl Laxfoss Howardson Jr, 55

Karl Laxfoss Howardson Jr, 55, of Seneca went to be with his Lord and Savior May 7, 2024, after a brief illness.

He was born March 17, 1969 in Ottawa to Carol Anne Howardson and Karl Laxfoss Howardson Sr

Karl went to Seneca High School playing football all 4 years and graduated class of 1988. After high school, he enlisted in the United States Army Signal Corp and was serving in Germany when he was sent to Saudi Arabia into the Desert Storm/Iraq conflict 1990-91. He received an honorable DD-214 and a National Defense Service Medal in 1991.

Karl loved the Chicago Bears and never missed a game on TV and loved Walter Payton and “The Fridge” from the 1985 Bears. He loved to draw and was quite talented. He also loved to cook and come up with all kinds of concoctions and new recipes. He loved to read and play video games on his tablet. He also loved all kinds of music and was very knowledgeable in the history of it, especially 60’s, 70’s & 80’s rock & roll. Guns n’ Roses, AC/DC, and Aerosmith were three of his favorite bands. Karl was a sensitive and kind man and would help anyone if he was able to and will be terribly missed by his family. He loved good conversation and talking about things of the Bible. He also liked to talk politics and things happening around the world. His father immigrated from Iceland and he was proud of that Viking heritage.

He is survived by his loving wife, Michelle Howardson, daughter, Brittney (Jerry) Dutko, son, Josh Howardson, 3 grandsons, Hudson, Grayson and Lincoln Dutko, his mother, Carol Bond, sister, Inga (Danny) Mondy, mother-in-law, Carol Gorham, sister-in-law/ brother-in-law, Chrissy & Jeremy Shanks, brother-in-law, Michael Gorham and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his Father, Karl Howardson Sr, Grandmother, Clarice Cummins, Grandfather, Kip Harris Sr, Grandmother, Gudny Johannesdottir, Grandfather, Havardur Reimarsson, Grandfather-in-law, George Dennis, Grandmother-in-law, Lucille Dennis,  Father-in-law, Dave Gorham, an Uncle, Kip Harris Jr and an Uncle,  Gunnar V. Laxfoss

A Celebration of Life for Karl will be at Osborne-Nelson Funeral Home in Seneca, Wednesday, May 15th with the visitation from 9-11am and his service at 11am with full military honors to follow.
