The Internal Revenue Service is reminding taxpayers about charitable deduction rules. The I-R-S says most people take the standard deduction. The I-R-S says those who itemize must remember that donations must be to a qualified organization. Other rules include: the donation must have been during the proper tax year, there must be a record of it, and the total deduction cannot be more than 60 percent of your adjusted gross income. And don’t, forget, your taxes are due on Monday.
