The Illinois Department of Transportation has announced that construction on the Route 251 bridge in Peru is set to commence on Monday, April 8, contingent upon favorable weather conditions. The scope of work will encompass cleaning the bridge and its structural steel components, as well as the top surfaces of piers and abutments, deck drains, and the deck surface itself. Traffic will be managed by flaggers, with one lane remaining open during the daytime. The project is anticipated to conclude in early May.
