Edward J. Kuleck, 76, of Ottawa

Edward J. Kuleck, 76, of Ottawa, passed away on Sunday, March 24, 2024 at his home, surrounded by family.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, April 4, 2024 at St. Columba Church, Ottawa with Msgr. Mark Merdian, Pastor, officiating. Burial will take place at St. Columba Cemetery on a later date. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, April 3, 2024 at the Mueller Funeral Home in Ottawa with an honor guard provided by the Knights of Columbus.

Edward was born on March 15, 1948 to Edward and Annette (Fidele) Kuleck. He received his Juris Doctorate from John Marshall Law School and worked as an attorney for 43 years. He spent 23 years as an attorney with the Lasalle County Public Defender’s office. Edward married Christina Nagle on July 23, 2005. He was a member the Utica White Sox Club, St. Columba Church, and was a Fourth Degree Knight in the Knights of Columbus. Edward was an avid Chicago Bears Fan. Edward enjoyed boating, car shows, visiting Marco Island, FL, golfing, cooking, going to Sox games, and loved everything family.

He is survived by his wife Christina; two children, Mark Kuleck of Scottsdale, AZ and Lauren Kuleck of Champaign, IL; two stepsons, Nate Cummings of Marseilles and Clayton (Loren) Brown of Ottawa; and three grandchildren, Aliyah Cummings and Mason and Gia Brown.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Annette; a sister, Karen Feldt; and a son, Brendon Kuleck.

Pallbearers will be Tom Shea, Tom McClintock, Tim Cappellini, Don Berry, George Leynaud, and Kevin Schultz.

Memorials may be directed to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
