(New York, NY) — French highwire artist Philippe Petit, who walked between the Twin Towers in 1974, is doing another rope walk this evening in New York. Petit became famous for that heart-stopping wire walk when he was 24. Now, at the age of 74, he’ll go airborne this evening at the Church of St. John the Divine, navigating 11 hundred floating ribbons. It’s a special art installation made for the church. Petit says they asked and he didn’t hesitate for a second, despite his age. He says he’s never felt more secure on the highwire and has no plans to retire. https://www.stjohndivine.org/philippe-petit-the-ribbon-walk
