Nancy Faye (Zeber) Knoll “Oma”, 77, of Ottawa, passed away on Sunday, January 28, 2024, at her home surrounded by her family.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, February 4, 2024, at the Mueller Funeral Home in Ottawa with Rev. Sharon Engert, officiating. Visitation will be from 12 noon until the service at the funeral home.

Nancy was born on April 28, 1946, in Columbia, TN to Alvin Joseph and Mildred (Byrd) Zeber. She worked as a school teacher for 27 years, starting in Georgia and then in Bolingbrook. Nancy married David Deane Knoll on December 28, 1969. She was a member of Friendship United Methodist in Bolingbrook. Nancy was a candy striper at Maury County Hospital in TN. She won awards for “Teacher of the Year” and “Homemaker of the Year” in Atlanta. Nancy was an avid sports fan who loved cooking, writing letters and cards with her family and friends, being active in women’s work church circles., and spending time with her seven grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, David Knoll, of Ottawa; her two sons, Kenneth (Debbie) Knoll, of Ottawa, and Michael (Colleen) Knoll, of Yorkville; seven grandchildren, Payton, Cooper, Bella, Carson, Clare, Danny, Audrey Knoll; two sisters, Debbie Loveless, of Spring Hill, TN, and Sherry (Greg) Moore, of Murfreesboro, TN.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Alvin and Mildred Zeber.

Memorials may be directed to the family for various charitable causes chosen by Nancy, in her honor.
