Janet C. Combs, 83, of Marseilles, passed peacefully on Monday, January 29, 2024, at Aperion Care Marseilles. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Friday, February 2 at the Marseilles Church of the Nazarene. Funeral services will follow at noon at the church with Rev. Bill Clark officiating. Inurnment will be in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery at a later date. Seals-Campbell Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements. She was born November 11, 1940, in Marseilles to William and Floye (Cooke) Youngling. In 1960, she married Charles Combs of Marseilles who preceded her in death in 2019.
Janet was a member of the Marseilles Church of the Nazarene. She enjoyed cooking, bird watching, and her house plants. She loved her grandchildren and spending time with her family and her dog, Lola. She is survived by her sons, Charles Mark Combs of California, Kevin (Holli) Combs of Marseilles, and Grant (Melinda) Combs of Morton; four grandchildren, Ciera (Zack) Stevens, Caleb (Kristen Forman) Combs, Carson Combs, and Ethan Combs; and two sisters, Marilyn Pollard and Betty (William) Irelan.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charlie; and one sister, Nancy Barnes. Please consider a memorial donation to the Pet Project.
